Police say lowe's customers and employees stopped an axe-wielding man inside the illinois road store just hours ago.

Officers say they responded to an active-shooter call at the store but when they arrived they found several people holding a man down inside.police say the man grabbed an ax but someone took it away from him.that's when they say he grabbed another ax and injured four people before they took him down.

All injuries are reportedly minor.

Officers arrested and charged 24-year-old joshua harless with battery ... criminal recklessness ... and aggravated battery.
