A man's in jail tonight after police say he stabbed and shot a man during an ambush early this morning on fort wayne's southwest side.

Fox 55's jentill neal talked to neighbors about what they saw this morning.

Jentill?hunter, neighbors in the aurora cove subdivision woke up to a police stand off around 1:35 this morning and since then it's been the talk of the neighborhood because no one knows the full story.

Neighbors are scratching there heads trying to piece together what happened after seeing the police lights and a stand off on wingara way.<bradley "they had guns pointed at the house.

And a spotlight pointed at the house.

It was nighttime so it makes sense.

They were on the megaphone.

They said we know you're in there.

Come out with your hands raised."james says about 45 minutes later two people exited the home peacefully.police say one was a 16-year-old and identified the other as 43-year-old christopher raymond hatch.

Both are charged with aggrevated battery.>"they were very cooperative when they came out.

There wasn't any shouting or yelling from them or anything vicious.

They had them lay down and put them in handcuffs and sat them down in the driveway there."the victim told police he was ambushed but got away.

He went to a neighbor's home on the next block ... leaving a trail of blood and a damaged garage on calera passage street.

When they found him he had gun shot and stab wounds.

I didn't get to hear that.

I just got woken up by the megaphone really."

Some of the neighbors say christopher hatch is one of the best neighbors anyone could ask for so what happened comes as a huge shock.
