Lafayette has partnered with second harvest food bank in united way too big to bring this big food drive through together and so now we have carly joining guys guys carly is the c.

Of united way of acadie anna good morning card good morning and so currently- we've been talking about this all morning we just had also on the show and- we would like to know exactly what.

Is a united way's position in all of this why did you guys decide to participate in this food distribution site here at cajun field well we know we're about- about a month into this disaster in some families are really starting to feel the crunch and be in food need.

So we partnered with you well obviously for their facility and second harvest for their food united way is helping with a lot of the logistics including bringing a bunch of all and here's here today to help assess loading food and into folks cars when they drive through.

Now carly i know you guys are expecting to beat at least at if hundred please balance sheet do you give me.

For line loading people struck- trucks and cars in the back- touchless system arm all the volunteers will be wearing pp so it's going to be a pretty active out here wow that is such a luxury experience it feels like you can just pull up and get groceries in your trunk that is amazing well guys make sure you come out here to cajun field this will be from two pm to four pm today.

Els director of sustainability joining guys gretchen thank you so much for being here this morning thank you for having me.

Gretchen we want to talk about the big food distribution that you guys we have in here allen cajun field site you are will be giving a drive through giving people food groceries in their trunks tell me a little bit more about how the sustainability department is involved in this.

Sustainability office works with- second harvest throughout the entire year so we have a really robust food recovery program that we put in place i'm a few years ago so door and- athletic events and other things like that we recover all the leftover food and second harvest helps us to give it to people in the community that really need it- so we are we have a long term partnership with them.

United way is another- agency that we partner with all the time throughout the year one big- community service projects like the big event- so whenever they reached out to us and told us that they really needed a large scale facility- we were happy to help make that.

Happen really quickly- and lots of resources will pull together very quickly on campus to make this available to the community and for our partners at the awesome we see that they're actually already starting to set up right.

This food drive will start at about two pm and it'll be from two pm to four pm here today and the cajun field so make sure you guys come by cation don't boulevard will be very crowded so make sure you get here early we're going to
