Silver Dollar Fair canceled for the first time in history

The Silver Dollar Fair that was set for May 21 through May 25 has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns, Fair Board members announced Tuesday evening.

Will not happen this year..

For the first time in its history.

He says we'll lose millions of dollars but the community's safety comes first.

The fair board decided to cancel the fair yesterday.

It based it's decision on guidelines set by the state and the centers for disease control.

The fair is a great place to bring the community and its saddening to us we can't do this, livestock exhibitors taking a hit, the fair industry is taking a hit, this is what they rely on you know we're all taking a huge hit.

Digrazia says last year the junior livestock exhibit made 1.4 million dollars.

He says right now they are exploring different options to help the junior livestock exhibitors auction their animals online.
