Cam standup - "spring beak is obviously a bit more difficult than most simply because a lot of us are confined simply to our backyards mostly.

But some college kids are taking it even a step further and sacrificing their entie spring break to make masks, ventilators, so on and so forth, to send masks to our local hospitals.

These kids are coming from all across the state."

"i have a bunch of these right here.

This is just a simple model.

It just goes right over someones head.

You can see these little nubbings on the end where the actual face shield would go."

19 year old, crater school of business graduate chase hukill is making face shields with this 3-d printer in his own home.

He is doing this while his college in bend in out of class.

"with mine, i have made about 30 over the last week."

Those shields will be donated to jackson county medical professionals at the jackson count expo.

Chase hoping to lead the charge for young people to innovate and help.

"what i love about the yonger generation is our ability, like you were saying to innovate.

We always come up with some crazy, whacky idea..

And he if it just might work... we try it."

Head up the road to portland and you will find davia fleming, taking us inside her home 3-d face shield lab.

"what we really wanted to put on these face shields is a nice little message.

"we've got your back."

Because we do."

That message will be sent to skylakes medical center in klamath falls today, as davia donates 40 face shields she has made.

And the oregon tech students are helping to possibly turn c-pap machines into ventilators using a valve.

"you have the tubes that connect from like, this side comes in from the motor.

This side goes out to the patient.

You have this little stem right here that has oxegyn."

A simple call to action for these students.

Taking just a moment to think about those effected... "and then i was like, what better way to use my spring break and now into my spring term than to try and help them."
