This year.

Alicia says: the ashland independent film festival is a top tourist attraction every year, bringing in hundreds to see a wide variety of films -- this year will be different but there is still so much to see.

A-i-f-f2020 will now be may 22nd through june 14th instead of the previously scheduled dates in april ááand it will be all online.

You'll be able to purchase a subscription for three weeks of films. subscriptions go on sale starting april 30th you'll have access to individual feature films, all the short films will be available with a subscription, some of the feature films will have additional charges but the prices are very reasonable even though aiff was forced to go virtual because of coronavirus, richard says this could be a perminant addition to the festival in years to come.

The experience has been so illuminating we realize now, well maybe in the future we can always have an online suppliment but for this year, aiff is working to make it as close to normal as possible.

We're trying to create events ... create the feeling of the festival so we don't want to just have film showings, we're going to have introductions, and q&a's with the filmmakers after every film and in addition to that we're planning to through parties online.

Those extra online events are only for members.

Alicia says: to end the festival, an awards presentation will be hosted online on june 14th.
