St. Charles athletic director gets creative as track & field meet cancelled

Scott McCready wasn't going to let Friday go without a meet.

Friday was supposed to mark the first meet of the season for the saint charles track and field team áá but because of the coronavirus, that didn't happen.

That didn't stop their athletic director from having a little fun.

"we didn't want to miss out on that and it only made sense since there was a track meet scheduled that we would do a track meet."

With their track and field meet cancelled saint charles athletic director scott mccready took matters in his own hands.

"that looks pretty good!"

The 20á20 fingers crossed invite looked a little different than usual.

Mccready would run every race, jump over every hurdle and even pole vault... maybe not that.

"i'm not that stupid."

He even demostrated social distancing by swapping out a standard baton, for a much longer baseball bat.

With his students unable to race, mccready's wanted to spread a positive message to them.

"make the best of what's in front of us and still stay positive the best we can.
