Picente says business must follow guidelines

After several people reported businesses allowing patrons inside, not following social distancing guidelines, Picente says the county may take action.

Office got several phonecalls this weekend about ceratin businesses not implementing the social distancing guidelines.

We also got phonecalls here at the station with that same complaint.

Picente says if businesses don't comply, the county may have to take action.

He says he received complaints of businesses not adhereing to the 6 feet between patrons rule, and the no gathering inside rules.

Over the weekend, several vieweres called us saying they saw businesses with large groups of people inside eating at tables... they say some had lines out the door.

The county executive stressed the importance of following the rules because the number of positive cases will go up.

The county executive says there are easy practices businesses can do to make sure they're following the rules.

Picente says: "put tape on the floor 6 feet apart, restrict the number of people that come through, you're not supposed to be open for drinks and socializing that's plan and simple that's the law.

The last think i want to do is county executive or in terms fof the state of emergency and in addition to what's been done is really impact any other businesses but if it comes to the heallh and safety and it is being violated to a certain point then we will look at what actions we can take."

From friday to today, the county received 22 positive cases.

So, he's really pushing that social distancing.

As far as travel restrictions in oneida county, picente says he doesn't have plans to do that at the moment.
