OFFICIALS WARN OF POSSIBLE COVID-19 EXPOSURE AT EUGENE CHURCH SERVICE

Health announced the possibility that community members who attended a local prayer service three weeks ago*may have been exposed to coronavirus.

Kezi 9 news reporter andrew haubner joins us live at first christian church where it happened....to explain everything we know up to this point...andrew?

Yeah jillian according to officials, a person who has tested positive for the virus attended a interfaith prayer service here on march 11th.

The individual was tested on march 17 because preexisting medical conditions had made assessing coronavirus symptoms challenging.

Officials are asking anyone who was at the service to call lane county public health if they have developed symptoms. because two weeks have passed since the possible exposure, non- symptomatic people who attended the service are not being asked to self- quarantine.

Symptoms of the virus include a high fever, cough and difficulty breathing.

We have reached out to the church for comment but no one has gotten back to us at this time.

They are closed until april 14th.
