Dr. Brian McDonough is a top clinician and media contributor

Coronavirus stinger as this medical story unfolds, our challenge is getting you good, understandabl e information.

What better place to get that, than from a good doctor?

Dr. brian mcdonough is an outstanding clinician, but he is also adept at making medical information understandabl e.

I worked with him years ago in philadelphia where he was a medical contributor for cbs radio and fox philadelphia.

I got him on the phone a few hours ago to talk covid 19.

We've all seen the spring breakers sprawling on florida beachesááá and most of us have seen the guy who's dopey interview went viral.

If i get corona, i get corona.

At the end of the day, i'm not going to let it stop me from partying.

But dr. brian mcdonough who provides medical news for everybody from the fox news channel's sean hannity to cbs news radioá ááá says now is the time to be smart.

Alright, we been kinda sitting in, we're staying home and it gets very frustrating and it gets very boring.

But these are the most important days.

This is when we can really make a difference .

In a way for young people this might be the biggest war they have.

Sounds corny, but it really is true.

Because if these numbers go bad, you talk about one two and three persent of the american population considering them dying.

We're talking about 330á million people.

So one two and three percent is a huge number.

As the death toll rises in europe, mcdonough allows that smoking could be a factor.

Long term smokers run into problems with all sorts of diseases, whether it's diabetes, lung cancer, asthma, those things, it's not unusual that these problems when people get covid 19 are things that hurt them down the road and make them more likely to run into long problems these tend to be the people with preá existing conditions who have the bigger problems. the good doctor's immediate concern is equipmentáááá everything from masks to ventilators.

The problem is if things get bad quickly and people are rushing to the hospital and the rooms get full and we're in the icu a lot, those supplies are going to not overtaxing our hospitals and medical professionals is why dr. mcdonough says it is so critical we flatten the curve.

The best way to do that is to live our lives as though we each have the virus.

Now that i've reá established contact with my old friendááá i'm hoping we can continue checking in with dr. brian mcdonough.
