The state reported more cases Thursday morning, including one case in Winston County.

Their funding and teachers will also get their salary paid as scheduled.

Winston county is one of the several counties in the state that confirmed their first case of the coronavirus today... wtva's evan hensley joins us live with what doctors are doing to battle it... the confirmed case here in winston county was the second to pop up so far here in northeast mississippi... i spoke with a resident who told me she doesn't think it is the last... ."

Ariana - louisville (does not want her last name) "since this is a very small county it's very vulnerable so anybody can pretty much get it now."

Ariana lives in louisville and believes we are just beginning to see this problem... "do you think there is more then one case here?

It probably is because once it gets in the area it starts to spread rapidly."

I spoke with one of the directors of winston medical clinics on if this will change the way they work... michael ard - medical director of winston medical clinics "not really we were already doing these precautions before the case.

We anticipate more cases but at the same time we have done more cleaning at the clinics and washing out hands more."

One of those precautions is the installation of this drive thru on the campus of the winston medical center... "today we are doing a trial run to see our patients in an ambulatory setting where they come in in their car and we see them in their car."

Doing this allows the clinics to remain free of any potential cases of coronavirus and reduces the risk of spreading... ard has been telling his patients to be patient if they have symptoms... "a lot of the time we have been telling them to stay at home and to call us back if the symptoms worsen thats the best thing you can do."

When i asked michael ard if he believes we are about to see a jump in the numbers here... he said yes... when i asked michael ard if he believes we are about to see a jump in the numbers here... he said yes... because we are beginning to test more... reorting live in louisville eh wtva 9 news
