The center is now asking veterans and employees about their health and travel history.
"we're also doing temperature checks" medical director of the v-a, david whitmer, says they aren't allowing visitors.
Whiter tells me the hospice patients center will only see one patient at a time.
"we have 156 veterans that are in the age population that is high risk this disease" according to the south central health district, there are 2 confirmed cases of coronavirus in laurens county.
The center say?in case of an emergency like the virus spreadin?they're able to help with their spacial containment area and extra resources.
"we have 8 beds in our primary containment area" right now the v-a will continue its preventative measure until further notice including cleaning high touched areas three times a day and practicing social isolation.
Army veteran dornell farmer, says she trusts the v-a's judgment.
Her only concern is staff going in and out of side doors.
"if their out and about they dont know if they're coming back in as a carrier or a possibly someone who may have it so i say if you're going to do it do it properly shut it all the way down" starting monday, everyone including v-a employees, must be screened at the main entrance before getting into the building.
