On Wednesday, 'Finding Jack' directors announced that James Dean would be digitally recreated to star in one of the upcoming film's leading roles.

Many celebrities took to social media to share their thoughts.

The family of James Dean agreed to allow his likeness to be used for the film.

Co-director Anton Ernst explained that existing photos and footage, digital recreations and stand-in actors and body doubles will be combined to create Dean's likeness.

The actor died in a California car accident at the age of 24 in 1955.
