Bahamas Has 2,500 People Missing From hurricane Dorian

Authorities reported around 2,500 people missing in the Bahamas after being hit by Hurricane Dorian.

According to Reuters, this number may include evacuees who fled to shelters.

Emergency management officials said the list of missing have not been cross-checked with those in shelters.

Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said the death toll remains at 50 but said the number could rise.

He said the government would remain transparent and provide โ€œtimely informationโ€ as it becomes available.
