More than 100 people have been killed and millions displaced, after days of torrential rains and floods hit South Asia.

India, Nepal and Bangladesh have all been affected but the poor Indian states of Assam and Bihar have been hit hardest.

According to the government, over 4 million people have been forced from their homes in Assam alone.

Everything's submerged and almost all of our crops have been destroyed." But this is only the beginning of this year's monsoon season.

More rain is expected in the coming weeks and the damage it causes will likely go up as well.

At this village in Bangladesh, residents say a nearby river's embankment broke in a flash flood.

We ran with our children and our houses were instantly destroyed by floodwaters.

We couldn't bring any of our belongings." Homes have been swept away and villagers are now trying to recover what they can before the next round of rains hit the region.

Floods in South Asia cause death and destruction every year with monsoon rains claiming at least 800 lives in 2017.

India's military has been deployed for rescue and relief operations and makeshift shelter camps have been set up as well.
