Here's a look at the week ahead on Wall Street.

American companies report their results starting next week, and they may not be pretty.

Second quarter earnings for S&P 500 companies are expected to slip from a year ago.

Citigroup kicks off the parade for banks on Monday, Look for sluggish profit growth from JPMorgan Chase when it reports Tuesday.

On Wednesday, a House panel holds a hearing on aviation safety in the aftermath of the two deadly crashes involving Boeing's 737 MAX jet.

United this week pushed back flight cancellations on the MAX to November 3rd.

Investors will give extra scrutiny to results from railroad operators Union Pacific on Thursday and Kansas City Southern on Friday.

They want to know if new import tariffs President Donald Trump threatens to impose could weaken demand for freight movers.

Growth in the cloud business will likely boost Microsoft's quarterly profit and revenue.
