How 'Game of Thrones' Viewership Compares To Other US Shows

The premiere of the final season of "Game of Thrones" was watched by 17.4 million viewers.

But how does that stack up with other popular TV shows?

It's difficult to compare viewership directly with shows on broadcast and cable networks.

Sunday's episode was pirated 54 million times in 24 hours, three times the size of HBO's official viewership figure.

Business Insider reports these are some of the biggest shows of 2018, according to Nielsen ratings.

Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, This is Us, NCIS, The Good Doctor, and American's Got Talent.

Even still, the record for the most watched show in America is the NFL's annual Superbowl.
