Scientists Don’t Know How This Strange Ring Galaxy Formed

Galaxies usually come in all sorts of crazy, spirally shapes and sizes????but Hoag’s Object is a little different and much more uniform????The galaxy 600 million light-years away looks like a nearly perfect circle????NASA’s Hubble Telescope snagged the shot of the ring galaxy in 2001????A ring of bright stars on the outside surrounds a ball of redder ones????but in between the two is an almost completely dark gap as if it’s missing material????Since its discovery in 1950, scientists have found similar ring galaxies????but they’re still not quite sure how they form this way??
