The women's prologue was won by Denmark's 4-time Cape Epic winner Annika Langvad and her Dutch rookie partner Anna Van Der Breggen.

The duo finished around two and a half minutes ahead of Kross-Spur racing's duo of Ariane Luthi and Maja Wloszczowska with team Summit Fin's Candice Lill and Adelheid Morath finishing third.

The men's prologue was a little closer with Scott Sram MTB Racing's Swiss duo Nino Schurter and Lars Forster finishing first, 41 seconds ahead of German-Brazilian duo Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini.

Kross-Spur's Sergio Mantecon Gutierrez and Ondrej Cink were a further nine seconds behind in third.

The first stage on Monday sees the riders travel 111 kilometres with an overall climb of 2,700 metres.
