(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) A Muslim policewoman gave a tearful address at a Christchurch shooting vigil in Auckland on Saturday (March 16).

"I am horrified as all my colleagues, in the events in Christchurch," said Superintendent Naila Hassan, the highest ranking Muslim police officer in New Zealand Police force, at the crowd who had gathered at Aoeta Square for the vigil.

Hassan reassured the gathering that the police would support the wider community, particularly the Muslim community in light of the tragedy.

New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern said police would be posted at all mosques while they are open.
