Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand defends office's handling of claims against staffer

(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) Democratic presidential candidate and New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand spoke to reporters outside the Capitol, defending her office's handling of claims from a female staffer of sexual harassment by one of her office's male aides on Monday.

Politico reported the story earlier in the day, describing a female aide resigning last summer in protest of the way her complaints were handled by Gillibrand's office.

The report said that in July, the female staffer alleged one of Gillibrand's 'closest aides' 'repeatedly made unwelcome advances towards her,' and that the female staffer resigned less than three weeks after reporting the alleged harassment.
