Police Helicopter Aids in Rescue of Man Stranded by Rising River Levels in California

Highway patrol officials rescued a man stranded by the rising levels of the Russian River in the Californian town of Guerneville on February 27.The highway patrol said a police helicopter was dispatched, along with the Russian River Fire Department, to rescue a stranded man suffering from hypothermia.

He was transferred to hospital for treatment.The rising water levels prompted flood warnings, road closures, and evacuations across northern California, according to local media.This footage, posted by the California Highway Patrol Golden Gate Division Air Operations, shows a helicopter en route to a rescue operation land on the Pocket Canyon Highway in Guerneville.
