Trump talks up denuclearization to Kim Jong Un in tweet

U.S. President Donald Trump hails North Korea’s “awesome” potential and says denuclearization could help Pyongyang thrive, hours before he's due to meet Kim Jong Un to try to break a stalemate over the North's nuclear weapons.

On the morning of his second North Korean summit, Donald Trump had a message for Kim Jong Un: Denuclearizing could make your dreams come true.

The U.S. President tweeted from his Hanoi hotel on Wednesday (February 27), saying "Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth.

North Korea would be the same, and very quickly... if it would denuclearize." He had touched down in Vietnam the night before (February 26), setting the stage for the second meeting between him and Kim.

But we've now found out that the two leaders will be meeting at the historic Metropole hotel on Wednesday evening.

That's much closer to the Melia, where Kim is staying, as opposed to the JW Marriott, where Trump checked in on Tuesday.

At the Metropole, the two leaders are set to have a quick twenty minute chat followed by a cozy dinner with aides.

It'll be the first time they see face to face since their summit about 8 months ago." In Singapore, the two made a wide pledge to work towards denuclearizing North Korea, though critics have pointed out - neither of them walked away with anything concrete.

This time, both sides are likely feeling the pressure to come up with specifics, like what steps North Korea can take to give up its weapons and what the U.S. can give in return.

One of those specifics could be Yongbyon, a North Korean nuclear complex.

Pyongyang's promised to dismantle it in the past several times, but never followed through.

The facility is at the heart of North Korea's decades-old nuclear program, and getting Kim to destroy it would be a major win for the U.S. In the run up to the summit, Donald Trump has said he's still committed to getting the North to denuclearize, though he's made on thing very clear.
