More than 3,000 more troops are being sent to the U.S.'

Southern border, joining 2,300 troops already in the area.

The 2,300 troops already stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border have been there since before November's midterms. President Trump deployed them to combat what he called the "national security risk" of Central Americans attempting to seek asylum in the U.S. In a tweet, President Donald Trump said more troops were being sent to the border in order "to stop the attempted Invasion of Illegals, through large Caravans, into our Country."
