"Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land": Marchers Hit Melbourne

‘Invasion Day’ marchers Hit Melbourne Streets on Australia Day, January 26, in a series of coordinated protests around the country. There were reports of city streets shut down as a result of the large-scale Invasion Day march.Australia Day marks the date in 1788 when Captain Arthur Phillip raised the flag of Great Britain in Port Jackson, NSW, and proclaimed a colonial outpost of the British Empire. But some Australians instead commemorate the date as an invasion by British settlers and suggest to change the date.
