Obviously I've had lots of success in Mubadala World Tennis Championships before in my career, I've played here several times and it's a great way to jump-start the season, you know.

I'll enjoy seeing a lot of families on the stands as well and experience some high quality tennis in somewhat of a more relaxed environment and atmosphere and hopefully we can have a good weekend." 2.

So I think it's good that it breaks down into a super tie break or a tie break at the slams, because it just allows players to recuperate for the next one." STORY: World number one Novak Djokovic said on Thursday (December 27) that he is hoping to maintain the success he had in the final six months of 2018 when the new tennis season starts.

Djokovic won the 2018 Wimbledon and U.S. Open titles after undergoing surgery in February to repair a long-standing elbow injury.

Speaking as he prepared to start his campaign at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships, Djokovic also backed the Australian Open's decision to introduce a final set tie break at next month's tournament.

The move leaves the French Open as the only grand slam event with the potential for a long final set.
