Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz's fate is up in the air.

Due to the evidence against him, he will likely either be sentenced to death or life in prison.

The 19-year-old faces 17 counts of first-degree murder in the February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The sheriff's office has Cruz's confession, his AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, ammunition clips, and video from the school.

Cruz could try to plead innocent by reason of insanity.
