Hong Kongers in Taiwan firmly support the ruling party after watching China erode freedoms at home

Many Taiwanese immigrants from Hong Kong, witnessing the erosion of civil liberties at home, support Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the upcoming presidential election. They prefer a party committed to preserving Taiwan's de facto independence and democratic values.
