Pakistan to expel 1 million illegal foreigners by January 2024

Balochistan Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai announced the second phase of a crackdown against illegal immigrants. The government plans to deport 1 million illegal foreigners by January 2024. Over 340,000 illegal migrants, including Afghans, have voluntarily left or been deported since the caretaker government's decision to deport undocumented refugees. Government agencies are involved in the crackdown and repatriation is taking place via the Chaman border. Transit camps have been set up for temporary accommodation.
