South Africa recalls UN peacekeepers accused of sexual misconduct in Congo

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has recalled eight UN peacekeepers deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo due to allegations of sexual misconduct. The soldiers were part of the UN mission in eastern Congo and the allegations were first reported by Reuters. The SANDF expressed disappointment that they learned about the allegations through the media and said proper reporting procedures were not followed.
