US provided Canada with intelligence on killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar

American spy agencies provided information to Canadian officials after the killing of a Sikh separatist leader in Vancouver, but Canada ultimately gathered the most definitive intelligence accusing India of orchestrating the plot. Intercepted communications of Indian diplomats in Canada pointing to their involvement in the plot were gathered by Canadian officials. The United States did not learn about the plot or India's involvement until after the killing.
