Ecuador party protests replacement of slain presidential candidate

The party of a slain presidential contender in Ecuador said Wednesday that a rival party had objected to their replacement candidate, just days before a tense election in the violence-hit country. Journalist Christian Zurita was tapped to take the place of Fernando Villavicencio, who was gunned down after a political rally last week, just days before the August 20 snap election.
