Police are appealing for witnesses of a fatal collision outside Lidl’s supermarket on Newton Road, Kingsteignton, on Friday afternoon.

The emergency services were called at around 3.30pm on Friday 2 October with a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a black Mercedes Vito.

A 91-year-old local man was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police would particularly like to speak to the driver of a car going in the direction of The Fountain at the time of the collision and may have seen the vehicle involved, exiting the supermarket car park.

Investigating officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the movements of the male pedestrian prior to the collision.

The road was closed for around three-and-a-half hours while enquiries were carried out and the vehicle was recovered.

Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk, quoting log 519, 2/10/20.
