Qatar- GCS 2021 highlights importance of coaching

(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Doha: With the participation of more than 200 participants, Global Coaching Summit (GCS) 2021, the first-of-its-kind in Qatar and the Middle East on coaching awareness and skills, concluded last Wednesday. The summit created an opportunity for scientific discussion between panelists and participants. Experts from various fields discussed many issues such as psychology, group coaching, team performance, culture, and return on investment in minds during the event. The largest participation was from Qatar, Egypt, and the United States of America. Also, the participants represented more than 30 countries around the world. The event was organised by Ghaya Management Training in coordination with Dar Al Sharq as a media partner under the patronage of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA). During the 11-days event, the summit contributed to raising awareness of coaching and its skills in the Middle East and North Africa region. The summit's closing programme included sharing recommendations developed by experts and specialists and opened the way for all participants to share their ideas, come out with practical projects to raise awareness of coaching and its importance, and participate in their implementation. The closing session concluded with the announcement of the date for the World Coaching Summit 2022, which will be held from March 1323. Global Coaching Summit is an annual summit that aims to increase coaching awareness and skills in the MENA region. This summit gathers many coaches worldwide and from different coaching, areas to sharpen the coaches' competencies by sharing experience, case studies, and best practices. The summit is a significant platform for exchanging ideas and discussing coaching practice. Speaking about the summit, Fatima Al Mohannadi, Executive Director of Ghaya Management Training, said, 'There is no doubt that there is a strong relationship between happiness and success. I am overjoyed at the success of the Ghaya Management Training in organizing the Global Coaching Summit in Qatar, under the auspices of Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs. She stressed the importance of investing in the human capital, saying, 'The human element is the capital of giant companies and rich countries, and investment in minds is the strongest because the industry of a prosperous present and a promising future depends on 'ideas more than on what the earth produces from the natural resources. 'The nation's renaissance will not be achieved except through real investment in human capital, and this calls for us to bear this pillar upon us all, she added. Al Mohannadi indicated that empowerment does not come with collective solutions but rather by allocating solutions to an individual; his skills and creativity and coaching focuses on implementing personal empowerment strategies with effective guidance. 'Ghaya Management Training since its launch in 2015 was keen to build a coaching culture and its importance to organizations and individuals, and this was embodied in training nearly 300 people at different levels. We launched awareness campaigns to introduce this concept and hold such conferences to open new horizons in areas such as psychology, group coaching, team performance, culture, return on investment in minds and create conditions for research and creativity, she noted. Manaa Al Otaibi, Director of the Training Department at the Institute of Public Administration, expressed his pleasure to participate in the World Coaching Summit. 'I feel happy and proud of the organisation of this summit as it is the first and unique event in the Middle East sponsored by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs. 'Coaching is an effective change tool that helps stimulate creative thinking and enhance personal and professional potentials. It is one of the important applications in selfdevelopment, and many people need it on the personal and professional levels, Al Otaibi said. 'It directly contributes to human development, which is the first pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, Al Otaibi added. Khaled Al Harami, one of the participants, said, 'I had a wrong idea previously that coaching is only for coaches, but I discovered from the sessions that it is a daily thing and develops a person in various areas of his life, in discussions, with his colleagues, with family and people. Another participant, Maha Al Sarhan, commented, 'I was pleased to attend the Global Coaching Summit organized by the Ghaya Management Training with daily sessions presented by many coaching specialists from all cultures. 'I benefited a lot from the participants' experience and the points they presented.
