Profuse misuse of social media platforms matter of concern: SC

The Supreme Court has expressed worry over the misuse of social media platforms for discussing ongoing court cases. Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela Trivedi raised this concern while taking contempt action against Assam MLA Karim Uddin Barbhuiya for sharing a misleading Facebook post related to a pending judgment. The court noted that judges often react to arguments presented by lawyers, either in support of or against a party involved in the case.
