Jail official held under UAPA over gadgets in Amritpal Singh’s cell

On Thursday night, Nipen Das, the superintendent of Dibrugarh Central Jail, was apprehended in relation to the discovery of electronic devices and digital gadgets found in the cell housing Amritpal Singh, the leader of Waris Punjab De, and his nine associates. The arrest of Das occurred approximately three weeks following the recovery of various items, including a spy-camera pen, a smartphone with a SIM card, a keypad phone, a TV remote with a keyboard, pen drives, Bluetooth headphones, speakers, and a smartwatch from Amritpal's cell.
