Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar has stated that there is only one Shiv Sena legislative party in the state legislature, and its MLAs must adhere to the whip issued by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led camp's whip Bharat Gogavale. Narwekar's decision has been criticised by the opposition, with Uddhav Thackeray calling it a "murder of democracy" and stating that his party will move the Supreme Court against it. Narwekar defended his decision by stating that he followed the Supreme Court's guidelines and that the Shinde outfit is the "real" Shiv Sena.
