Dispute over drug money behind Manipur firing that killed 4; situation calm, CM promises action

Tranquility prevails in Manipur's Thoubal district's minority-heavy Lilong Chingjao area despite recent violence. Four villagers were fatally shot by members of the outlawed People's Liberation Army (PLA). The death toll rose to four after another victim succumbed to injuries, and two others are critical in an Imphal hospital's ICU. PLA militants targeted a resident of Lilong Chingjao, leading to the expulsion of the PLA members. The PLA's political wing, Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), acknowledged the gunmen were from their ranks and announced an internal investigation.
