No 'white New Year' in popular Uttarakhand hill towns this time

Tourists in big numbers are headed towards destinations such as Auli, Mussoorie, and Nainital for new year celebrations. However, the meteorological department has predicted that there is a slight possibility of snowfall only in higher reaches of Uttarkashi and Chamoli, and it is unlikely in the lower parts of the Himalayan state. The temperature is hovering around the normal mark and there are no signs of rain or fog for the next few days. Despite this, most hotel rooms and homestays in these hill stations are fully booked.
