Counting of votes underway in Chhattisgarh assembly elections

Counting of votes in the Chhattisgarh assembly elections began in 33 district headquarters with a three-layer security mechanism. The elections were held in two phases on November 7 and 17 with a voter turnout of 76.31%. A total of 90 returning officers, 416 assistant returning officers, 4596 counting personnel, and 1698 micro-observers have been appointed for the counting process. The main contest is between the ruling Congress and the BJP, with a three-way contest in seats influenced by Ajit Jogi's party and the BSP.
