16 members of Haryana family handed life term for clash that led to 2 deaths

Sixteen members of a family from Bawani Khera were awarded life imprisonment by a Bhiwani court in a 2020 case that was registered after two people, among them a woman, died of injuries sustained in a clash over Holika Dalan. The convicts, aged 23 to 65 years, were found guilty of rioting, murder, and other charges. The altercation between two families started with a disagreement between Ajay Sharma and Suresh during a festival event. The argument escalated into a fight involving both families, resulting in the deaths of Suresh Devi and Manbir. The accused failed to prove their innocence and were sentenced to life imprisonment.
