Work on Noida Airport, also known as Noida International Airport (NIA), is progressing well and is expected to be operational by next December. The final floor of the passenger terminal is being built and work on the façade has begun. The air traffic control tower has reached its full height and the runway is being paved. The airport will have navigation and instrument landing systems installed by March 2024. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is working on the interchange connecting the airport to the Yamuna Expressway. The airport will have independent road connectivity and various modes of transportation such as train, Metro, and RRTS are being planned. Contracts for running the lounge, food and beverage outlets, and retail spaces will be awarded soon. TajSats and Roseate Hotels and Resorts are among the companies involved. The airport will have body scanners and 3D computed tomography X-ray (CTX) machines for enhanced security checks. Additionally, efforts are being made to ensure safe airspace usage in coordination with the IGI Airport. The progress of the airport's development is being closely monitored, and the management board of Zurich Airport will be reviewing the progress this week.
