Madhya Pradesh polls: ‘A clash of ideologies, not brothers’: Kin lock horns in Hoshangabad

Two septuagenarian brothers, Girija Shankar Sharma and Sitasaran Sharma, who have been associated with the BJP for three decades, are now competing against each other in the Hoshangabad assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh. Girija Shankar, who left the BJP and joined the Congress, will be contesting against his brother, who is the incumbent MLA. The contest is now seen as a clash of ideologies rather than a personal rivalry. “The election in Hoshangabad will be like any other. Here the fight is not against a person but between two ideologies,” the five-term MLA Sitasaran Sharma had said.
