Congress expels rebel in Chhattisgarh, another joins Ajit Jogi's JCC-J party

In a prelude to the upcoming assembly elections, the incumbent Congress party in Chhattisgarh has taken a decisive step by expelling Anoop Nag, the MLA representing Bastar's Antagarh constituency, for a period of six years due to his engagement in activities against the party's interests. Nag's decision to run as an independent candidate after being denied a Congress ticket prompted this action. The Congress has nominated Roopsingh Potai in his place for the Antagarh constituency, where the election is slated for November 7. Potai will contest against BJP's Vikram Usendi, who had previously lost to Nag in the 2018 state elections.
