A 22-year-old visually impaired chess player, Himanshi Rathi, won the bronze medal at the ongoing Para Asian Games in China. This was a significant achievement for the city of Ahmedabad, as another para player, Bhavina Patel, had won a bronze medal the day before. Himanshi's win in the visually impaired category required her to visualize the entire chessboard and understand multiple moves. She took up chess after losing her vision and has been practicing intensively for the past one and a half years.
