Rajya Sabha bids farewell to retiring members

The Rajya Sabha has bid farewell to five members, including BJP’s Jugalsinh Lokhandwala, praising their contributions to the proceedings of the House during their tenure. Of the nine retiring members, only four have been re-elected while the other five members – Dineshchandra Jemalbhai Anavadiya and Lokhandwala of BJP, Sushmita Dev and Shanta Chhetri of AITC, and Pradip Bhattacharya of Congress – were not re-elected. The leader of the House, Piyush Goyal, created a stir when he highlighted the contribution of Jaishankar as external affairs minister.
