Centre to Supreme Court: Govt at advanced stage of consultation on reexamining colonial-era sedition law

The Supreme Court of India has deferred hearing a batch of petitions challenging the sedition law after the Centre announced that it is at an advanced stage of consultation for re-examining the penal provision of the colonial-era. The petitions challenge the constitutional validity of Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code.
