SC to ask Bengal govt to provide protection to ED officials in Kolkata for TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee's questioning

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Enforcement Directorate as to why it cannot question TMC leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee in Kolkata instead of Delhi as the politician till now seems to be just a witness and not a potential accused in a money laundering case. The court said that it will direct the West Bengal government to provide protection to ED officials in Kolkata so that they can question Banerjee, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew, without facing any issue.
