Days after Mahant Narendra Giri's death, Akhara Parishad splits, seven factions elect their own president

The surprise move has effectively split the 13-member Akhara Parishad into two groups. The first group comprises seven Akharas - Nirmohi, Nirvani, Digamber, Mahanirvani, Atal, Bada Udasin and Nirmal.
