Bulgaria, Kosovo, and North Macedonia have signed declarations with the United States on the security of 5G wireless communications networks under which they committed to protect their networks from "untrusted" Chinese tech companies such as Huawei. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took part in separate signing ceremonies on October 23 over videoconference from the State Department.
